  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

I can't remember the last time I listened to an "over the air" music radio station.
If I'm not playing something from my own library, I have on either Pandora or Spotify. Both let me pick the artists I like and they make suggestions based on that.
If a song or artist comes up, I don't make a mad scramble for the remote. I just hit thumbs up or down to let them know if I like it or not. If I hit thumbs down, the song stops and goes on to the next.

Even being a musician, and lover of all music...isn't immune to some songs/artists being absolutely abhorrent to hear! It's rare, but not including genre criticism from a professional standpoint, and any children's music (my kids are grown, I've done my time),

It would be death metal (The heaviest kind that is impossible to understand the lyrics)

and any music with auto tune throughout the song (instead of occasional enhancements)

Agreed, and I'm pretty much over singer/songwriters of the seventies... one more Jackson Browne tune and I'll blow chunks. I quit a band after ten years because the bandleader couldn't move beyond these guys, Christ the songs are fucking 40 years old... could explain why we couldn't get hired out but once a year.

Interestingly enough, I still enjoy ACDC and Steppenwolf with the exception of the heavy rotation shit from AM and FM radio. Since it's not on AAC formatted stations any more, it's rather pleasant to come back to once in a while.

I was kinda hoping you were talking about Steve Morse - leaps and bounds one of my favorite guitarists - plays all styles - mostly Southern Rock fusion, but classical, straight rock and extremely good country pickin' - If you like instrumental country pickin', listen to this. It's the tune that made them famous (on the obscure charts) lol

Honestly, @Truthful 1 - I just don't care. Like who you like, dislike who you don't like - I'm not going to even begin arguing a point of personal tastes.

I know many that loves Reba. I’m just not one of them. Never was much of a Garth Brooks fan either.

Nothing I absolutely can't listen to if others are doing so, but I could do without some things. A lot of the popular mainstream rap and "mumble rap" sounds like they're half retarded, but to be fair, I should give FULL credit where it's due. lol.

For a while, every other new band that came out sounded like Nickelback to me, and to me, that is just a very boring generic sound for rock music. Boring is the ultimate "sin" in rock music. But this is just my opinion. Each their own.

I don't dislike all country, but growing up as a rock/metal fan who hated ALL rap and country initially, a lot of the mainstream new stuff still does jack for me. I heard some call it "pretty boy pop for Southern housewives". Sounds kinda accurate.

That had to be horrible! I wasn't aware that ABBA had 'hours of music'. Was it on repeat?, even worse.

I swear it was like played every 3rd 4th song on the radio at the time and I was stuck listening to it at work without being able to change the station....
Anything else I can tune out, but that one just eats into whats left of my brain cells.

It was popular when I was DJ'ing in bars. I learned to hate it too.
You can't dance to it or even sing along with it because it's one of those songs people only know one line from (Red Red Wine) but people still wanted to hear it.

In the car, I love Radio Roulette! I only listen to classic rock, jazz/blues and occasionally classical, so I never have to turn off rap or hip-hop, but there are bands I love with songs I hate.

Like The Rolling Stones 'Emotional Rescue'. Fortunately, it doesn't get much airplay, but when it does...

Not so much bands but certain songs make me bolt for the radio dial. As time goes on, I get used to some of them but one song makes me cringe so bad, I want to shoot my radio, Siri, Sirius, Alexa, Tidal whatever. That song is B-52s' "Love Shack". Ugh. Hate that song with a passion. There is a little bias there. I used to be a major fan of The B-52s in their early years. Saw them on tour twice in the early 80s. The quirky band that jammed. But they went pop with Love Shack and became unbearable. I was at a wedding and paid the dj $10 not to play that song unless someone requested it.

If I hear the beginning - or a verse or chorus - of Hotel California, I switch it immediately. Just way too overplayed, really since it came out - like Stairway to Heaven and Another One Bites the Dust.

But if I come in at the guitar trade-offs at the end, I'll listen - that's some tasty playing

Commercials, I go between four stations when a commercial break starts.

You really need an eight minute break?

It's so bad I turn the radio off while driving home and guess what?

Eight minutes later I have music.
